Student Council Elections

Student Council elections are starting and here’s the timeline for the elections.

  • Friday, 9/6
      • The class will privately vote for 3 boys and 3 girls to run as candidates
      • The 6 candidates will create one poster and speech (up to 3 minutes) to campaign
      • The speech may include ways to improve the school, service projects that the representative can lead, and how to make CWE the best elementary school. Feel free to add any other message you may feel are appropriate.
      • Please return permission slips on Monday, 9/9
  • Tuesday, 9/10 & Wednesday, 9/11
      • The poster must be completed by Tuesday, 9/10 to be displayed in the pod area
      • Students may only pass out badges or ribbons to campaign (no food, candy, or other objects)
  • Thursday, 9/12
      • Election Day!
      • The 6 candidates will deliver their speech (up to 3 minutes) and the class will privately vote by ballot for 1 boy and 1 girl to be our class’ StuCo representatives
      • If you’d like to dress up, please feel free to do so. (not required)
  • Friday, 9/13
      • Representatives will have their names announced in the morning.
  • Thursday, 10/3
      • First StuCo meeting after school from 3:25 – 4:15 p.m.


  • Great representatives must be a leader, dependable, demonstrate acceptable and appropriate behavior, willing to work, and able to inform the class of Student Council events through oral communication skills
  • If a student fails to maintain the following on their report card, they will be removed from Student Council and replaced by the runner-up permanently.
      • Maintain a “C” average or above
      • Maintain “S” or above for “General Conduct” and “Work Habits”
